Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Food Service Attendant to join our team at Empire Diner. As a key member of our hospitality staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take customers' orders and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Portion and wrap foods to meet customer requests and preferences
  • Package take-out food for customers in a timely and efficient manner
  • Keep records of the quantities of food used to inform inventory management and ordering decisions
  • Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units to maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, to meet health and safety standards
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer requests and preferences
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas to maintain a well-stocked and organized kitchen environment
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe working environment

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Fast-paced environment with high levels of customer interaction
  • Physically demanding role requiring manual labor and lifting
  • Work under pressure to meet customer demands and deadlines
  • Permanent full-time position with 40 hours per week
  • Work language: English
