About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Designer to join our team in the Security and Healthcare Technology division. As a key member of our Subject Matter Expert team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex electronic systems for various clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, and maintain various electronic systems, including Nurse Call, RTLS, Audio, Video, Paging, Intercom, Security/Access Control, Telecommunication, and Video Surveillance.
  • Act as a subject matter expert resource for project managers and mentor junior team members to assist with technical difficulties or issues.
  • Inspect potential project sites and provide accurate estimation of required equipment and time.
  • Maintain and complete accurate as-builts and all system documentation for projects.
  • Train end users on operations of provided systems.
  • Develop and implement solutions to resolve interfacing or intercommunication problems between disparate systems.
  • Commission and configure hardware and software for deployment/installation.
  • Create and provide internal technical training resources and sessions for Houle team members.

Requirements:

  • Recognized training in more than one relevant security/healthcare system and products, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection.
  • Familiarity with more than one of the following platforms: Genetec, Kantech, Lenel, Milestone, Ascom Telligence, GuardRFID, or Sonitor.
  • Minimum 5-7 years working in a similar role, with strong technical expertise in related systems. Electronics background also an asset.
  • Experience in large design build projects including Hospitals.
  • Experience with integration and middleware engines in the security/healthcare product space.
  • Familiarity with SNMP, BACNET IP, MODBUS, and other platform agnostic messaging protocols.
  • Knowledge of various programming and computer languages including C#, python, and T-SQL is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of web-based technologies, protocols, and languages/mechanisms including API, REST, SOAP, HTTP/HTTPS, ISS, Web servers, JSON, XML, and SQL is a strong asset.
  • Able to work in various government institutions, as well as willing to travel and work in other regions for short periods of time.

Salary range: $80,000 - 120,000 per year plus a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and overall match to the position offered.
