We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Data Engineering Lead to join our team at goeasy Ltd.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing robust and scalable data architectures leveraging Azure and AWS services, encompassing data lakes, warehouses, pipelines, and streaming solutions. They will demonstrate deep understanding of Azure and AWS platforms, including storage (Azure Blob Storage, AWS S3), compute (Azure VMs, AWS EC2), databases (Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS), and big data processing (Azure Databricks, AWS EMR).

  • Designing cloud-based data architectures for large-scale data-driven engagements.
  • Demonstrating expertise in Azure and AWS platforms, including storage, compute, databases, and big data processing.
  • Ensuring data solutions comply with industry standards like GDPR, implementing security best practices, encryption, and access controls.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to understand data integration needs and provide tailored solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in migration projects from On Prem to Azure Cloud Services (Data Lake/Synapse) and knowledge of data transformation and data preparation tools and techniques.

In addition to their technical skills, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and drive initiatives forward.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect or Data Engineer with hands-on experience in designing and implementing data solutions on Azure Data Lake and AWS.
  • Strong understanding of cloud services and data architecture principles.
  • Proficiency in data integration and ETL concepts and practical experience with cloud technologies.
  • Azure certifications related to data and analytics are an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL Server database design, implementation, and administration.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $130,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and a flexible work program that provides the opportunity to work three days onsite per week between our Mississauga and downtown Toronto office.
