About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Gastroenterologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a specialist in Internal Medicine, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of patients and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide full scope of practice as a Gastroenterologist, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Participate in call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage for our patients.
  • Support your own site and other sites in the Western Zone as needed, including day-time and occasional overnight/weekend coverage.
  • Be responsible to the Zone Department Head for Internal Medicine for professional responsibilities and quality of practice.
  • Operate in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws of Nova Scotia Health.
  • Participate in teaching medical students and internal medicine residents and fellows.
Expected Hours and Compensation

This is a full-time position with flexible vacation time. Compensation is fee for service, with annual income dependent on your own clinical output. You will also receive call stipends and other incentives as available through the Master Agreement of Nova Scotia.

Qualifications

Candidates must be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or eligible to take the Fellowship Exam in Internal Medicine. You must also hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
