We are seeking an experienced Dessert Artisan to join our culinary team at Auberge du Pommier in Halifax.

Auberge du Pommier is a renowned restaurant located on the waterfront in the Queen's Marque district, offering a unique dining experience that showcases the region's freshest ingredients.
**Job Summary**
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our pastry team and ensuring the quality and consistency of all desserts served. This includes maintaining accurate records of food ingredients, updating recipes, and adhering to health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
**Responsibilities**
- Lead by example as a hands-on Pastry Cook, ensuring the quality and consistency of all products served.
- Maintain accurate records of all food ingredients for pastry and update recipes as needed.
- Ensure all menu items have their recipes recorded, costs tallied, and updated on an ongoing basis.
- Identify and correct any issues that can impact the effectiveness of the operation.
- Adhere to health, safety, and cleanliness standards, and correct any deficiencies.
- Handle special requests and guest allergies to ensure guest health and satisfaction.
**Requirements**
- Minimum of two years progressive experience in a pastry capacity.
- Knowledge of new trends in presentation and preparation.
- Proven ability to work well with a team, and as an individual.
- Culinary degree/diploma an asset.

**Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year**, based on industry standards and location. We offer a competitive compensation package, including bonuses and benefits, to attract and retain top talent.
