About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team in Canada. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and support to our business teams, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and developing and implementing effective legal strategies to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, including sales and procurement contracts, distribution agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Negotiating with key partners, customers, government agencies, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Providing legal advice and counsel to business partners, management, and other internal stakeholders on commercial law, regulatory compliance, and other relevant topics.
  • Developing creative and compliant solutions to resolve complex business challenges and customer disputes.
  • Assisting in the management of contract documentation flow, approvals, reporting, and archiving consistent with internal processes.
  • Providing ongoing counseling regarding corporate policies, initiatives, and programs.
  • Cooperating with corporate business units and departments to achieve optimal results while minimizing risk.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of corporate and commercial law experience, in-house with a healthcare/technology company, within a highly regulated industry, or experience in a well-respected law firm.
  • LL.B./JD, called to the Bar in the Province of Ontario, and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
