Senior Frontend DeveloperKey Responsibilities

The Senior Frontend Developer leads the Web & Mobile development team and participates in all development phases. This role involves analyzing complex business and technical problems and shaping the Digital platform.

  • Deliver across the entire app life cycle – concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to production and support
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to conceptualize, build, test and realize products
  • Gather requirements around functionality and translate those into elegant solutions
  • Build prototypes at tech scoping stage of projects
  • Work with web developers to create and maintain a robust framework to support the project/task
  • Create compelling device-specific user interfaces and experiences
  • Optimize performance for the apps
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends in mobile/web technologies
  • Explain technologies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Attend industry events/conferences – both attending and presenting
  • Document work effectively
  • Communicate clearly with business users and project managers
  • Handle client interactions effectively
Requirements
  • Proven commercial software development experience – desktop and mobile
  • Excellent knowledge in information architecture, human-computer interaction and usability design principles
  • A track record of delivering successful consumer and/or business products
  • Ability to use analytic data and user testing to inform design decisions
  • A passion for new consumer technology and the emerging media landscape
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent unit testing/usability/QA/scoping and estimation skills
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with various departments locally and internationally
Essential Skills
  • Deep understanding of native JavaScript
  • Front-end web technologies including AngularJS, Node, Bootstrap, CSS3, HTML5, jQuery, Ajax
  • CSS preprocessing, e.g. LESS
  • Front-end build tools, e.g. Gulp, Grunt
  • JavaScript testing frameworks, e.g. Jasmine, Karma
  • Front-end components, e.g. Bower
  • JavaScript compression and minification, e.g. Uglify
  • Developer/build tools including GIT and Jenkins
  • Code analysis tools (PMD, Checkstyle, Findbugs, Sonar, etc)
  • Understanding of web performance optimization techniques
  • Strong design and programming skills
  • Familiarity with coding standards and naming conventions
  • Experience with web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)
  • Experience of development using web technologies
  • Good understanding of design patterns
  • Excellent debugging and optimization skills
  • Conceptual knowledge on data caching and synchronization
  • Optional: Knowledge of cross-platform SDKs
Qualifications/Additional Requirements
  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering/Computer Applications
  • 5+ years of experience developing published mobile/web applications on various form factors
  • Experience with 3rd-party libraries and APIs will be a plus
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Leadership potential and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to deal effectively with individuals at all business levels, requiring tact, judgment, and composure
  • Working hours: 12:30pm to 9:30pm with a 1-hour break
  • Reporting to Delivery Manager/Technical Architect
