Job Title: Estimator - Construction

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at Home Craft Siding & Soffits Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, providing economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects, and creating and submitting estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Costing: Prepare accurate and detailed estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects.
  • Economic Feasibility Studies: Conduct economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects to ensure they are viable and profitable.
  • Estimate Reports and Bids: Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms to clients and stakeholders.
  • Cost Monitoring and Reporting: Set up and maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems to track project expenditures.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Blueprints and Specifications: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate estimates.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in estimating and cost management.
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, organized, and ability to work in a team environment.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position with 35 hours of work per week. The work language is English.
