Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Student to join our team at PCL Industrial Management Inc. as a Construction Assistant. In this role, you will assist with project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring, while also reviewing drawings and coordinating work-specific scope/trades.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring
  • Review drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate work-specific scope/trades
  • Verify material quantities, hours, and rates
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate changes with craft personnel
  • Set up and maintain record-keeping systems
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and conduct safety inspections
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering with a mechanical or civil major
  • Strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience an asset
  • Proficient in various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivated
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to provide own CSA-approved steel-toed boots and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test
  • Our fabrication facility is not easily accessible by public transportation, so a vehicle is required
