About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Folk Dance Teacher to join our team at Folk Star Arts Academy Society. As a Folk Dance Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching traditional folk dances to students of all ages and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Develop and deliver engaging and informative dance classes, workshops, and performances that showcase traditional folk dances.
  • Student Development: Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and help students achieve their dance goals.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with our team to design and implement new dance programs, workshops, and events that promote cultural exchange and understanding.
  • Community Engagement: Foster relationships with local dance communities, schools, and cultural organizations to promote our programs and services.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Language: Proficient in English.
  • Work Setting: Cultural events, dance academies, or schools.
  • Tasks: Prepare students for auditions and performances, teach dance techniques and artistic interpretation, perform dances, and practice and rehearse dance routines.
  • Area of Specialization: Traditional folk dance.
  • Teaching Specialization: Professional training.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, and attention to detail.
  • Personal Suitability: Creativity and positive attitude.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
