Sun Valley Co-op is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Produce Clerk to join our team at the Altona Food Store in a part-time capacity.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service, maintain attractive produce displays, and perform various tasks related to receiving, stocking, and preparing fresh products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring a positive experience for every shopper.
  • Maintain visually appealing produce displays, adhering to company standards.
  • Prepare fresh fruit and vegetables for value-added products, meeting quality and safety requirements.
  • Unload, organize, and stock produce efficiently, minimizing waste and maximizing storage space.
  • Monitor temperature controls, clean equipment, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Showcase excellent organizational abilities, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Exhibit an enthusiastic approach to work, maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Show self-motivation, taking initiative to improve processes and contribute to team goals.
  • Work efficiently and accurately in a busy setting, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 30 pounds consistently.
  • Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and some holidays is required.
