About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at Mount Norquay. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, as well as batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Supervision: Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff.
  • Special Orders: Prepare special orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Inventory Organization: Organize and maintain inventory levels.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, hand-eye coordination, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, dependability, excellent oral communication, judgement, reliability, and team player.
