Overview of Home Care Attendant Role

The Home Care Attendant position at Southern Health-Santé Sud is an opportunity to provide personal care and home support services to individuals in their own homes. As a member of the Home Care team, you will work under the direction of the Resource Coordinator - Home Care to ensure that clients receive the necessary support to maintain their independence.

Job Responsibilities

As a Home Care Attendant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care services such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assisting with daily living activities such as eating, toileting, and transferring
  • Preparing meals and snacks
  • Accompanying clients on outings and appointments
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Grade 12 education
  • Previous experience working with the elderly or disabled in a community setting
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
Work Environment

You will work in a variety of settings, including clients' homes, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. You may also work evenings and weekends as needed.
