Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at TRUMPF Canada Inc. as a key member of our finance department.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, managing internal controls, and optimizing financial processes.
  • They will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements through robust internal controls and process optimization.
  • This includes managing journal entries, invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, with some payroll oversight, tax management, and audit coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting
  • Ensure accurate implementation and adherence to revenue and cost recognition rules for accrual accounting in line with corporate accounting standards.
  • Develop and refine financial reporting tools to support effective financial planning and analysis.
  • Monitor and manage treasury and cash flow, ensuring effective working capital management.
Process Development & Optimization
  • Automate and streamline financial processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing or payment issues.
Tax & Compliance
  • Oversight of tax compliance and timely submission of all required tax filings.
  • Manage interactions with tax authorities, ensuring adherence to local and international tax regulations.
Accounts Payable & Collections
  • Timely and accurate payment processing.
  • Maintenance of positive cash flow and minimization of outstanding receivables.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of senior accounting experience, preferably in a multinational sales environment.
  • Proven proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Experience with ERP systems is essential; experience with AccountEdge is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with German GAAP accounting would be helpful.

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year.
