Job Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

About the Role:

  • This is a full-time position, working 35 to 40 hours per week.
  • The successful candidate will have no degree, certificate or diploma, but experience in the field will be an asset.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
  • This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a variety of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers
  • Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
