We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Law Specialist to join our team at Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services. As a member of our team, you will provide legal services to children, youth, and families within our catchment area.
About the Role:
- Provide legal advice and representation to Agency staff on matters related to family law, child custody, and access.
- Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the well-being of children, youth, and families.
- Work collaboratively with community partners to identify and address systemic barriers to accessing services.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas relevant to family law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement case plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
- Provide legal representation in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and appeals.
- Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to provide comprehensive support services to clients.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify best practices and emerging trends in family law.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years' experience in family law and/or child custody and access.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
