Fibre Optic Cable Splicer Job Description

LAPTOP REPAIRS & NETWORKING SOLUTIONS INC. is seeking a skilled Fibre Optic Cable Splicer to join our team. As a Fibre Optic Cable Splicer, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing cable signals and associated equipment, inspecting trunking systems, and reading blueprints to determine work requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment
  • Inspect trunking systems
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Test equipment to locate transmission faults
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports
  • Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
  • Determine work assignments
  • Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers
  • Splice, join and connect wires
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • Criminal record check
Working Conditions:
  • 35 hours per week
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
