Fire Protection Design Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our Mechanical team in Vancouver, BC. As a Fire Protection Engineer at Smith + Andersen, you will play a key role in designing and implementing fire protection systems for various projects.
Key Responsibilities- Licenced Professional Engineer in the Province of British Columbia with the ability to take professional responsibility for fire protection design and signing and sealing all fire protection related documents.
- Fully understands fire protection Codes and Standards relevant for the project and is able to communicate all requirements to the internal project team, external project team, owner, and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Prepares or assists Principal-in-charge or PM with the development of fire protection system concepts and concept reports.
- Reviews and manages the fire protection design in terms of construction budgets and warns of decisions that will exceed available budget.
- 5 or more years of fire protection engineering experience in residential, commercial, and institutional buildings.
- Demonstrated strong leadership qualities and ability to work independently.
- Possess sound communications skills as demonstrated through client and staff relations.
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, methods, and standards.

The estimated salary for this position is $115,000 - $142,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
