Job Title: Cleaner/General Maintenance

Killam Apartment REIT is seeking a skilled Cleaner/General Maintenance professional to join our team at the Royalty Crossing in Prince Edward Island. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise contract cleaners and ensure high-quality cleaning standards are met
  • Perform general maintenance and painting tasks as required
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including operating vacuum cleaners and removing waste
  • Wash windows and interior walls, clean washrooms, and empty trash cans
  • Sweep, mop, and scrub hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Report any deficiencies or maintenance issues to the Operations Manager for prompt repair
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents and visitors in a shopping center environment
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, staff, and vendors
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities
  • General knowledge of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing is an asset, but not necessary
