About the Role:

AFD Petroleum is seeking a skilled Welder and Fabricator to join our team in Nisku, Alberta. As a key member of our shop team, you will play a critical role in the maintenance, repair, and modification of our fuel tanks and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in AFD Petroleum's Safety Program, including worksite inspections and promoting safe work practices.
  • Safely and efficiently complete all fabrication and welding tasks as assigned.
  • Regularly repair and maintain fuel tanks and equipment in the shop.
  • Perform housekeeping activities to maintain a safe work environment within the shop and yard.
  • Assist with general labor tasks, including painting, decal removal, fuel transfers, and cleaning.
  • Collaborate with shop technicians, electricians, and other trades as required.
  • Operate wheel loaders, forklifts, and overhead cranes as needed.

Requirements:

  • Valid provincial Journeyman Certification in Welding.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a shop or field environment, with a strong background in welding and fabrication.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read drawings, layouts, and follow work order instructions.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Professional attitude.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
