Civil Litigation and Family Law Specialist

Position: Family Lawyer/Civil Litigation
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage family law and civil litigation files, ensuring timely and effective resolution of complex matters.
- Handle a wide range of family law matters, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division, utilizing expertise in negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials, demonstrating strong advocacy and communication skills.
- Instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients, fostering a collaborative and client-centric approach.
- Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications, showcasing expertise in legal drafting and advocacy.
- Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials, leveraging negotiation and litigation skills to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end, ensuring seamless and efficient case management.
- Experience in general civil litigation is an asset, allowing for a broader range of expertise and versatility in case handling.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of current experience in British Columbia family law and/or civil litigation practice, demonstrating a strong foundation in the field.
- Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently, showcasing self-motivation and discipline.
- Strong judgment, work ethic, and interpersonal skills, essential for effective collaboration and client relationships.

- Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership, showcasing ambition and a growth mindset.
Compensation:
- Base salary: $120,000 – $160,000, depending on the year of call and experience, offering a competitive compensation package.
