About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Personal Banking Associate to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our branch, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our customers and prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver personalized service to customers and prospects, identifying their needs and providing advice and guidance on financial solutions that meet their interests.
  2. Collaborate with BMO partners to identify referral opportunities and grow customer relationships beyond personal banking.
  3. Welcomes and guides customers in the branch lobby, offering advice and guidance on digital and self-serve options to make banking easy, simple, and fast.
  4. As a lobby leader, assist in conducting client conversations about banking services, recommending alternative channels and providing personal banking and investment advice.
  5. Meet customer transaction-based needs with seamless execution.
  6. Review customer profiles and engage in needs-based conversations to identify potential opportunities and address everyday banking plans and credit card needs.
  7. Contribute to meeting branch business results and the customer experience.
  8. Support operational activities, such as inventory management, escalated service requests, and following up on customer applications.
  9. Act as a key member of a collaborative and versatile branch and market team.
  10. Probe to understand customer personal banking and credit card needs, integrating marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations to provide strategic advice.
  11. Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  12. Take the initiative to find creative approaches that make each customer's experience feel personal.
  13. Look for ways to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the overall branch customer experience.
  14. Contribute to business results and the overall experience delivered in the branch.
  15. May work at multiple branches based on market needs, with a variable work schedule.
  16. Follow through on risk and compliance processes and policies to safeguard customer assets, maintain their privacy, and act in their best interest.
  17. Keep current with the wider financial services marketplace, the legal and regulatory environment, and BMO's commitment to upholding the highest ethical requirements.
  18. Maintain current knowledge of personal banking products, practices, and trends, integrating into customer conversations.
  19. Identify and report suspicious patterns of activity suspected to be related to money laundering.
  20. Comply with legal and regulatory requirements for the jurisdiction.
  21. Protect the Bank's assets in compliance with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
  22. Complete complex and diverse tasks within given rules and limits.
  23. Analyze issues and determine next steps, escalating as required.

Requirements

  1. Typically between 1 – 2 years of relevant experience and/or certification in a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Canada only: Registration to sell investment products completed or in progress, as appropriate for the jurisdiction.
  3. Confident and experienced in using social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications.
  4. Some experience in a consultative customer service or sales role, with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience.
  5. Basic knowledge of specialized sales and business banking solutions to refer to specialists.
  6. Passionate commitment to helping customers.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $35,000.00 - $52,000.00, with a pay type of Salaried. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO's expected target for the first year in this position.

Total Compensation Package

BMO's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
