About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our team at Wawanesa Insurance. As an Insurance Underwriter, you will play a critical role in analyzing and evaluating risks to ensure that our customers receive the best possible coverage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform risk analysis using advanced technology and external data sources to determine the acceptability of business risks.
  • Determine eligibility for policy renewals based on company guidelines and retention goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of decisions made and ensure completeness of policy data.
  • Communicate decisions and respond to requests in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Assist with interpretation of rating procedures, wordings, underwriting policies, and regulations.
  • Handle work assignments efficiently and effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external parties to achieve team goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Three years of experience in the Property and Casualty industry.
  • Post-secondary education or related business experience.
  • Completed or actively pursuing a Property and Casualty Industry Designation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily work.
