Assistant Director of Care

The OpportunityThe Assistant Director of Care will work collaboratively with our senior management team to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate resident care activities within approved policies and procedures. This includes onboarding and annual staff education, staff health and safety, and infection prevention and control programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Resident Care Evaluation: Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of care provided to our residents.
- Collaboration with Registered Staff: Work closely with our Registered Staff team and the RAI-MDS Coordinator to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate documentation.
- Care Plan Development and Review: Develop, update, and review care plans regularly, ensuring they are followed consistently and accurately reflect the resident's care requirements.
- Resident and Family Support: Respond to resident or family concerns, ensuring appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority.
- Nursing Background: A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing, including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of The Nursing Homes Act and Regulations, Homes for Special Care Act, Extended Care Program Directives, and other pertinent federal, provincial, and municipal Statutes.
- Professional Registration: Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Post-Graduate Studies: Post-graduate studies in nursing, nursing administration, and geriatrics are considered an asset.
