Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commerce Solutions Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Architecture team, you will be responsible for defining software and product solutions that address client business needs. Your technical and business acumen will enable you to communicate complex solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your primary focus will be on Shopify clients, where you will design solution architectures that effectively meet functional and non-functional requirements. You will work closely with the VP of Architecture to evolve the Centre of Excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage the Shopify platform to lead technical delivery from design to launch
  • Design solution architectures leveraging SaaS platforms to address both functional and non-functional requirements
  • Maintain a strong understanding of B2C and B2B Commerce
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to lead teams through challenges and make strategic decisions
  • Clearly articulate complex technical solutions to key business stakeholders
  • Develop deep relationships with customers and become a trusted advisor
  • Provide technical leadership to teams working within a disciplined development methodology
  • Propose solutions and provide effort estimates for existing customers' engagements and during the sales process
  • Participate in Pre-sales activities including solutioning, estimating, planning, resourcing, and presenting
  • Mentor, coach, and motivate developers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set and manage customer expectations when defining solutions
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years as a Solution Architect leveraging Shopify with a proven track record of delivering complex commerce solutions
  • Deep understanding of Shopify's architecture, API integrations (GraphQL and REST APIs), app ecosystem, Liquid, and headless storefront capabilities
  • Familiarity with Shopify Plus features such as Functions and Flow for automation, along with UI extensions for advanced customization
  • Experience in managing and optimizing Shopify's checkout process
  • Excellent communication skills (English) with the ability to work with stakeholders of all levels both technical and non-technical
  • Ability to produce detailed solution architecture diagrams and documentation
  • Ability to prepare and lead client technical working sessions
Estimated Salary Range

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
