Job Title: Hardwood Floor Layer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hardwood Floor Layer to join our team at Woodbusters Flooring Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining hardwood floors in commercial and residential settings. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and measure surfaces to be covered
  • Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding
  • Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings
  • Prepare and install hardwood floors
  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
  • Prepare floors for installations
  • Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants
  • Smooth gouges with wood filler and sand wood
  • Smooth rough edges using belt sander or smoothing wheels
  • Sand, trim, grind, or clean products into final form using hand tools
  • File, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired
  • Vacuum floors
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Valid driver's license
  • Own transportation
  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Efficient interpersonal skills
  • Judgement
  • Organized
  • Team player
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in flooring installation
  • Knowledge of power tools and equipment
  • Ability to distinguish between colors
  • Hand-eye coordination
Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a variety of settings, including commercial and residential locations. The successful candidate must be able to lift heavy loads and work in a dusty environment.
