Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Lead Metal Fabricator to join our team at General Aluminum Railing Ltd. The successful candidate will have experience in metal fabrication and be able to lead a team in the production of high-quality aluminum railings.

About the Role
  • This is a permanent full-time position working 30-35 hours per week.
  • The role requires proficiency in operating heavy-duty metal-working machines, including setting up and operating machinery as needed.
  • You will work closely with our team to determine materials required for each project, lay out reference points and patterns, and plan the sequence of tasks to ensure efficient metal cutting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Determine materials required for projects and manage inventory accordingly.
  • Lay out reference points and patterns on metal stock.
  • Plan and implement an efficient metal cutting sequence to meet production deadlines.
  • Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Operate heavy-duty metal-working machines, including set-up and operation.
  • Construct patterns and templates as needed.
  • Install fabricated components into final products.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in metal fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication principles and practices.
  • Ability to lead a team and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
