Job Title: Apprentice Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our team at Chandos. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for constructing and maintaining buildings, working closely with our experienced carpenters and other tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lay building foundations and ensure they are level and secure.
  • Prefabricate, erect, and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, wall columns, beams, slabs, and shafts.
  • Make repairs to the internal and external structure of buildings, including cement work and assembling and fastening materials.
  • Construct and maintain structural woodwork, shelving, flooring, tables, chairs, and other wood products.
  • Perform renovations and upgrades to existing buildings.
Requirements:
  • Currently indentured into an Apprenticeship Program, Carpenter.
  • Two or more years of experience as a carpenter.
  • Currently working in the trade.
  • Motivated, hardworking, and able to work long hours and Saturdays if needed.
  • Knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do material and labour estimates.
  • CSTS training is a prerequisite for employment. If you do not have this training, it can be made available.
