About the Role

We're seeking a Law Clerk to join our team, focusing on Insurance Defence Litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Practice management
  • Drafting pleadings and application materials
  • Preparing undertaking charts and corresponding with counsel
  • Managing Independent Examinations, including expert retention and brief preparation
  • Reviewing productions and providing counsel with pre-discovery lists
  • Summarizing document productions and materials
  • Managing production requests and preparing Affidavits of Records
  • Drafting Letters of Instruction and expert retainer materials
  • Trial/Arbitration preparation

Requirements:

  • College diploma and/or university degree in a legal program (Paralegal, Law Clerk, Legal Office Administration)
  • Minimum of three to four years of experience in Insurance Defence Litigation, specifically as a Law Clerk
  • Excellent understanding of tort matters
  • Strong document management skills and ability to learn software programs
  • Prioritization, organization, and execution of tasks with a fast turnaround
  • Desire to be part of our #oneteam philosophy and support insureds, adjusters, and lawyers
  • Excellent attention to detail, proofreading, and drafting skills
  • Strong communication, listening, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with clients, counsel, insureds, and court officials
  • Demonstrate a disciplined approach to work
