Job Title: Marine Structures Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Structures Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Marine Structures Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking construction supervision and quality control for existing structures and current construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake construction supervision and quality control for existing structures and current construction projects.
  • Liaise with Clients on existing projects and pursue new project opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively to assist other project team members and incorporate input from other parts of the business on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Manage and act as Owner's Representative for active Marine Projects.
  • Coordinate drawing development with other technical staff and complete drawing reviews.
  • Review project documentation to check clarity, accuracy, consistency in presentation, and compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and finances.
  • Maintain good working relationships with internal project support groups.

Requirements:

  • Holds a bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution or Technical Diploma from a Technical College.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in various roles including project coordination, construction management, or construction supervision on behalf of the Owner's Team or Design-Build Team.
  • Registered as an EIT or working towards registration.
  • Familiar with marine design codes, standards, and structural requirements in relation to Marine Docks, Jetties, Quay Wharves, Access Trestles, Coastal Structures, and common Civil/Coastal practices in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Possess project management skills and have experience in successfully delivering marine infrastructure projects.
  • Has a functional understanding of typical marine design considerations for steel and concrete structures, soil/structure interaction, and marine environmental loading.
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and a positive, collaborative approach.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication.
