Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Substance Abuse Specialist to join our team at the Behavioural Health Foundation. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to individuals struggling with addiction.

Job Summary:

The Substance Abuse Specialist will be responsible for assessing clients' needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions to promote recovery. You will work closely with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.

Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Services:
    • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health and substance use disorders
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address clients' needs
    • Provide group and individual counseling sessions, focusing on cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention
  • Case Management:
    • Collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care and services
    • Advocate for clients' rights and interests, ensuring they receive necessary resources and support
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes
    • Prepare comprehensive reports and summaries for clinical and administrative purposes
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Education: A diploma or degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology, counseling)
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders
  • Certifications/Licenses: Possession of a valid driver's license and completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position, requiring regular attendance and flexibility to meet the demands of a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Compensation:

The Behavioural Health Foundation offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
