Key Responsibilities

The HR Generalist will be responsible for providing support to the HR Team at our York branch. This includes:

  • Managing the full cycle recruitment process for manager roles and above
  • Conducting new hire orientations and rotating staff orientations with the Coordinator
  • Managing front-line staff leaves of absence, including requests, processing documentation, and monitoring timelines
  • Supporting the HR Manager in managing employee relations complaints and grievances
  • Acting as a resource for managers and supporting them in applying the performance management and progressive discipline policy
  • Updating employee files and confirming documentation after performance appraisals
  • Running reports from the learning management system to record compliance for employee file purposes
  • Ensuring staff complete mandatory training as required
  • Facilitating branch transfers, including updating employment letters and agreements, and coordinating with Procura
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary degree in Human Resources or a related field, with a CHRP designation preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in human resources management, with a focus on positive employee relations
  • 1-2 years of people management experience
  • Experience working with employee groups and managers to resolve issues
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining a positive work environment
