Quality Specialist Job Description

At Signature Aluminum Canada, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assistance: Provide ongoing quality assistance to internal and external customers, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Corrective Action: Manage all internal and customer-related corrective action and non-conformance requirements, ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Documentation: Prepare, review, and verify all documentation related to customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions, ensuring that all requirements are met.
  • Quality Improvement: Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of our products.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Quality Support: Provide quality support to incoming customer questions and concerns, ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Non-Conformance: Disposition of suspected non-conformances and initiate required downstream activities, ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Corrective Actions: Initiate, coordinate, and follow up on corrective and preventative actions, ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Quality Planning: Work with cross-functional teams on Advanced Product Quality Planning and in development of new/existing products, ensuring that all quality requirements are met.
  • PPAP Documentation: Develop and validate PPAP documentation in a timely and quality manner, ensuring that all requirements are met.
  • RMA Coordination: Coordinate RMA's (Return Merchandise Authorization), ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Quality Testing: Work with union quality staff on all quality testing, ensuring that all quality requirements are met.
  • Customer Representation: Represent the "Voice of the Customer" in part quality issues, recommending acceptance or rejection.

Qualifications

  • Quality Experience: Three to five years as a Quality Engineer (or equivalent) in the Automotive industry.
  • Education: University degree/college diploma or successful completion of career-related courses preferred.
  • AIAG Core Tools: Advanced knowledge of AIAG Core tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, PFMEA etc.).
  • Problem-Solving: Understanding of problem-solving, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
  • Communication: Able to communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Organizational Skills: Must have good organizational skills, be a self-starter, and a team player.
  • Computer Skills: Must possess sound knowledge and ability to use various PC-based computer applications.
  • Language: Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English.
