Job Title: Diagnostic Radiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Radiologist to join our team at Ottawa Hospital and Region Imaging Associates.

Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Radiologist will be responsible for interpreting medical images, conducting research, and supervising laboratory activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret medical images, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs
  • Conduct research on human disorders, illnesses, and preventive or curative methods
  • Supervise laboratory activities, including ordering laboratory tests and X-rays
  • Act as consultants to other physicians and teach university subjects
  • Record and process patient data, perform administrative tasks, and grade examinations
  • Develop and interpret radiographic film, deliver lectures, and conduct laboratory sessions
  • Assess extent of injuries or illness of trauma victims, interpret test results, and diagnose patients' diseases and disorders
  • Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations, operate X-ray, radiographic, and fluoroscopic equipment
  • Monitor patients and advise physicians of any changes in patients' condition
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
  • Specialty residency training in Diagnostic Radiology
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • 1-2 years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology
Work Environment:

The Diagnostic Radiologist will work in a fast-paced environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The ideal candidate will have excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
