Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients across various units as required
  • Contribute to patient care needs in accordance with CNO standards, RNAO Best Practice Guidelines, and program philosophy
  • Administer medications and treatments as per established protocols
  • Initiate necessary clinical assessments and engage with interdisciplinary teams
  • Act as a preceptor, mentor, or resource nurse as needed
  • Participate in clinical discussions, team meetings, and patient/family conferences
  • Be flexible with changing work assignments across Homewood Specialized Services

Required Qualifications:

  • Current registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing
  • Up to 6 months of experience in general nursing practice preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA) and documentation standards
  • Ability to manage crisis situations and deal with acutely ill patients
  • Current knowledge of assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders
  • Proficient computer skills and experience working with various systems and software
