Early Childhood Educator Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the YMCA Tumbler Ridge Care & Learning Centre. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children in our centre.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality care and creative programming for children, promoting their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, ensuring open communication and a collaborative approach to supporting children's needs.
  • Assist in planning and implementing a consistent child-centred program, aligned with the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to deliver high-quality, age-appropriate programs that meet the needs of children.
  • Adhere to all Child Care Licensing Regulations and YMCA Child Protection Policies.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Early Childhood Educator License to Practice.
  • Three satisfactory professional references and experience working with children in a child care or recreational setting.
  • Current child care First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain, and a satisfactory Criminal Record and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search.
