About the Role:

This position involves performing various laboratory tasks, including sample preparation and extractions, as well as routine maintenance and simple analyses. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing sample disposal, assisting analysts, retrieving samples from storage, and storing samples in a designated area
  • Weighing and traying samples under supervision
  • Performing instrument/equipment calibration, maintenance, and repair as required
  • Preparing all necessary reagents, standards, and reference materials
  • Carrying out data processing, record-keeping, and documentation duties
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to established safety regulations and ALS health and safety policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; previous lab experience is an asset
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to stand for long periods
