Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Wholesale Funding Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank in Toronto, Canada.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position responsible for managing capital and wholesale term funding programs. You will oversee the Bank's Sustainable Bond program, manage Group Treasury's Fixed Income Investor Relations, and support internal and external control functions. As a strategic influencer, you will work closely with stakeholders to drive business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Manage capital and/or wholesale term funding programs, including continuous disclosure requirements, program renewals, quarterly Bank financial statement review, and quarterly due diligence.
  • Oversee the Bank's Sustainable Bond program, including maintenance and update of the Bank's Sustainable Bond Framework, identify opportunities and execute on sustainable bond issuances, and oversee sustainable bond portfolio and use of proceeds/reporting requirements.
  • Manage Group Treasury's Fixed Income Investor Relations, including preparation of annual fixed income investor marketing plan, support preparation of Bank, Treasury and/or deal-specific marketing materials, and participate in investor meeting.
  • Support internal and external control functions, including audit, SoX, Operational Risk, compliance, and support Department Initiatives, including Bank-wide regulatory projects or requirements.
  • Effective supervision and review of (in)direct report(s) to support achievement of business objectives.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, finance, mathematics, economics, or accounting designation preferred. Non-business degree combined with CFA or accounting designation would be acceptable.
  • Ability to manage a high-performing team in a sometimes-demanding environment.

  • Strong analytical and math skills.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to review and understand complex structured transactions and related documentation.

Estimated Salary Range: $140,000 - $170,000 per year
