About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Industrial Millwright Specialist to join our team in a critical maintenance role. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the success of our operations.



Key Responsibilities



  • Respond promptly to mill breakdowns, working closely with area operators to resolve maintenance-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Maintenance Logbook, ensuring it is up-to-date at the end of each shift.
  • Take ownership of assigned areas and support Area Management initiatives within the mill, addressing downtime, quality, and safety concerns.
  • Develop and implement effective Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules for your area.
  • Foster daily collaboration with Area Operators and Management to address their needs and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Communicate maintenance updates to Operators, Planners, and peers effectively.
  • Interface with the Area Planner to coordinate daily work schedules and optimize productivity.
  • Collaborate with other trades and operators to enhance uptime reliability and minimize equipment failures.
  • Participate in vibration route collection, taking field readings to identify potential issues.
  • Analyze equipment failures to determine root causes and recommend long-term fixes.
  • Enter work requests for follow-up activities as necessary.
  • Complete assigned work orders or PM/PDM activities as directed.
  • Pursue ongoing skill development through vendor training, web-based courses, seminars, etc.
  • Attend maintenance crew meetings and participate in group functional meetings and training sessions.
  • Support the Asset Reliability Process (ARP) by contributing to Area Management, Planning & Scheduling, and Daily Schedules.
  • Collaborate with the crew to maintain activities for meetings, training, and on-shift vacation coverage.
  • Be responsive to radio communications and keep operations and peers informed about changes made during shifts.


Requirements and Qualifications



  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A Post-Secondary Mechanical Program certification or a valid Industrial Millwright ticket is preferred.
  • Industrial mechanical skills experience (bearings, hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes).
  • Industrial welding and fabrication expertise.
  • Strong industrial mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to work varied shifts supporting a 24/7 operation (12-hour shifts).
  • Capacity to work at heights, in hot, noisy, and dirty environments.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and self-starter qualities.
  • Effective teamwork skills to achieve departmental goals.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook is preferred.

Selection Process



  • Applicants will be scheduled for a Mechanical Skills test.
  • Successful applicants will then be invited for a panel interview.


Estimated Salary


The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,207, with final compensation determined by individual skill level and experience.
