IBM Software Developer Job Description

At IBM Computing, we're seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our team. As a key member of our dynamic team, you'll play a vital role in crafting exceptional software experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement innovative features.
  2. Fine-tune and sustain existing code for optimal performance.
  3. Guarantee top-notch quality through rigorous testing and debugging.
  4. Collaborate with fellow developers, designers, and product managers.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  1. Software Development Expertise: Strong background in software development, demonstrating expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
  2. Cloud Technology Proficiency: Experience with cloud-based technologies, showcasing familiarity with modern cloud ecosystems and tools.
  3. NoSQL Database Knowledge: Proficiency in NoSQL databases, particularly experience with technologies like Cloudant.
  4. Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated excellence in problem-solving, with the ability to tackle complex issues and find effective solutions.
  5. Team Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly as part of a team, contributing to collective goals.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise:

  1. Strong academic foundation in Computer Science or related fields: Data structures, algorithms, networking.
  2. Strong communication skills and able to convey ideas and opinions to others.
  3. Experience with automated infrastructure configurations and orchestration, e.g., Docker, Kubernetes.

Location Statement: Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship. This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions.
