About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employment Consultant to join our team at WCG International Consultants Ltd. As an Employment Consultant, you will play a critical role in providing solution-focused support to clients to help them achieve sustainable employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized Employment Action Plans to support clients in securing long-term employment.
  • Conduct assessments to understand clients' employment-related strengths, needs, and abilities, and document relevant employment-related factors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to generate and manage client referrals.
  • Provide pre-employment assistance through vocational advice, job search training, skill development, and work preparation activities outlined in the Employment Action Plan.
  • Support clients in accessing community resources to improve their job readiness, including facilitating and following up on referrals as appropriate.
  • Conduct initial employer on-site visits to ensure the best working conditions for our clients.
  • Assist clients and/or employers in resolving issues that may impact the client's ability to maintain employment.
  • Identify and arrange for any accommodations and supports necessary for the client to continue employment.
  • Coordinate and facilitate required training that will support job retention, including on-the-job training.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary certificate, degree, or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling, education, or human resources management).
  • Strong desire to help those facing unemployment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent documentation and report writing skills.
  • Strong digital literacy, including MS Office suite.
  • Solid understanding of confidentiality and other professional codes of conduct.
  • Employment conditional on obtaining a criminal record check.
  • Ability to work outside business hours, including in shifts and evenings, when required.
