**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Northwestern Medicine. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition care to patients with various medical conditions.

About the Role:

  • Assess patient nutritional needs and develop personalized plans to restore or maintain optimal nutrition status.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide high-quality, cost-effective nutrition care.
  • Prescribe and implement diet and nutrition-related therapies, including therapeutic diets, nutritional supplements, and enteral/parenteral support.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families on nutrition therapy for disease prevention and wellness.

Main Responsibilities:

Leadership and Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Lead nutrition-focused projects and initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
  • Mentor and educate students, interns, and new staff members on nutrition principles and best practices.
Clinical Expertise and Quality Improvement
  • Apply advanced nutrition knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance departmental performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and research through ongoing education and training.
Communication and Education
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to promote nutrition awareness and understanding.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs on nutrition topics for patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Share expertise and knowledge through presentations and peer-reviewed publications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field.
  • Current registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the State of Illinois.
  • At least one year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
  • Two or more years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
