Senior Game Designer

At Frontier, we're on a mission to create innovative Tactical RPGs that captivate audiences worldwide. As a Senior Game Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the gaming experience for our players.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Game Designer to join our team in Winnipeg. As a key member of our Design Team, you'll collaborate closely with our Lead Designer and Creative Director to design and implement game systems, mechanics, and features.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing game systems, mechanics, and features that deliver an exceptional player experience
  • Collaborating with the Design Team to ensure cohesive and engaging game design
  • Reviewing and iterating on design documentation, systems, and unit implementation
  • Communicating design ideas and solutions to the Lead, Creative Director, and other departments
  • Managing and communicating risks, and helping to triage and focus features, bugs, and scope
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Demonstrable experience in the Games Industry as a Game Designer
  • Full-cycle development and production experience as a Senior Game Designer on at least one AA+/AAA title (Turn-Based Tactical RPG title or similar strongly favored)
  • Understanding of the differing needs and demands of Game Design across all phases of Production
  • Able to identify the best solution and support others in problem-solving constructive solutions to achieve design and iteration goals
  • Able to build and sell a shared cross-departmental vision for the areas you are responsible for and act as an ambassador for the game as a whole
  • Experience with onboarding players via tutorials and in-game guidance
  • Demonstrable experience of owning an entire feature design, from reviewing feedback and iterating to achieve a specific goal defined by the Lead and/or Creative Director
  • Game UI/UX Design experience
