About this role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect Systems Designer to join our team in the Security and Healthcare Technology division. This role will be based in our Burnaby office.

Your responsibilities

  • Design, install, and maintain various electronic systems, including Nurse Call, RTLS, Audio, Video, Paging, Intercom, Security/Access Control, Telecommunication, and Video Surveillance.
  • Act as a subject matter expert resource for project managers and mentor junior team members to assist with technical difficulties or issues.
  • Inspect potential project sites and provide accurate estimates of required equipment and time.
  • Maintain and complete accurate as-builts and system documentation for projects.
  • Train end-users on the operations of provided systems.
  • Develop and implement solutions to resolve interfacing or intercommunication problems between disparate systems.
  • Commission and configure hardware and software for deployment/installation.
  • Create and provide internal technical training resources and sessions for Houle team members.

Your experience and skills

  • Recognized training in multiple relevant security/healthcare systems and products, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection.
  • Certification in multiple platforms, such as Genetec, Kantech, Lenel, Milestone, Ascom Telligence, GuardRFID, or Sonitor.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, with strong technical expertise in related systems. Electronics background is an asset.
  • Experience in large build projects, including P3 Hospitals.
  • Experience with integration and middleware engines in the security/healthcare product space.
  • Familiarity with SNMP, BACNET IP, MODBUS, and other platform-agnostic messaging protocols.
  • Knowledge of various programming and computer languages, including C#, Python, and T-SQL.
  • Knowledge of web-based technologies, protocols, and languages/mechanisms, including API, REST, SOAP, ISS, Web servers, JSON, XML, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of various networking protocols and technologies.
  • Ability to work in various government institutions and willingness to travel and work in other regions for short periods.

Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, plus a competitive total compensation package.
