About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Coordinator to join our team at CO_3200 Canem Systems Ltd. in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and assessing safety procedures, protocols, and practices within our region's branches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and maintain worksite safety, environmental, hazard assessment, and Occupational Health and Safety standards, procedures, and protocols, ensuring compliance with local, provincial, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Coordinate and conduct training for all branch staff in safety-related programs, including WHMIS, equipment operation, fall protection, first aid, and forklift training.
  • Monitor and assist safety maintenance programs on company-owned or rented equipment.
  • Participate in project pre-planning, provide information for tender documentation on manpower and safety, and monitor field sites for productivity and quality of workmanship.
  • Conduct on-site orientation, monitor onsite procedures and work processes, develop safe work practices and procedures with site personnel, and maintain personal protective equipment policies and standards.
  • Support incident investigation and reporting, including health, safety, environment, medical, first aid cases, and damage to property or equipment.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of projects and provide assessments to project supervisors.
  • Provide leadership and positive motivation for project staff and company partners, acting as a responsible and goal-oriented team player.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of dedicated Health, Safety, and Environment experience.
  • Safety Certification, e.g., CSO, CSS, NCSO, GSC.
  • Experience with electrical work is an asset.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Outstanding people and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Proficiency and knowledge in required computer programs.
  • Excellent knowledge of local, provincial, and federal safety laws, rules, and regulations, Occupational Health and Safety standards, procedures, and protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and planning abilities.
  • Strong organizational abilities and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills, specifically the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
