Road to Recovery Program Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Providence Health Care, specifically in the Road to Recovery Program. This program is a leader in innovative addiction and substance use care, providing a comprehensive continuum of services to support patients and residents in their journey to recovery.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and treat patients with undifferentiated diseases, disorders, and conditions within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice.
- Monitor ongoing care, order appropriate screening diagnostic investigations, and interpret reports to plan treatment.
- Establish priorities for management of health, diseases, disorders, and conditions, and provide follow-up treatment.
- Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams about health findings, diagnoses, and priorities.
- Collaborate with physicians, healthcare teams, and social service providers to determine the appropriate resources necessary for patient status.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, and may admit and discharge patients to facilities according to medical staff bylaws.
- Prescribe drugs within statutory and regulatory standards, limits, and conditions for Nurse Practitioners.
- Assign work to other nursing and healthcare personnel, evaluate work, and provide education and supervision as necessary.
- Participate in research and quality improvement contributing to patient care and advances in nursing, health policy development, and population health.
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.
- Recent relevant clinical nursing experience.
- Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
- Completion of the Basic Cardiac Life Support Course, Level C.
