We are seeking candidates with a strong background in software development, design, and architecture to oversee the deliverables for a team of 5 to 6 software engineers and QA analysts.

This role is hands-on, requiring both the design and coding of solutions while also leading and managing the efforts of team members.

As part of a fully remote, permanent position, you will report to the Director of Development and will be responsible for:

  • Taking charge of the software development deliverables for a team of 5 to 6 software engineers and QA analysts.
  • Collaborating with product management to translate product requirements into innovative and detailed technical designs.
  • Managing the software development tasks of the team, including effort estimation, risk management, and project completion projections.
  • Coordinating software maintenance tasks assigned to the team, such as bug fixes and customer-driven feature development.
  • Overseeing team management duties, including performance reviews, professional development, and approvals for vacations and expenses.

Promoting QA and DevOps best practices to ensure high quality and efficiency is essential.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years in a software development role
- At least 2 years in a senior software developer, architect, or team lead position
- A university degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in JAVA and related technologies
- Experience in building web-based user interfaces with JSP, HTML5/JavaScript
- Familiarity with React and related frameworks is a plus
- Experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL and PL/SQL or equivalent database experience
- Knowledge in Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence is advantageous
- Expertise in software development methodologies and best practices
- Experience with test automation and continuous integration
- Background in requirements analysis, design, and architecture
- Proficiency in both Windows and Linux platforms
- Experience working with remote teams across various time zones is beneficial
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required
- A positive attitude is essential.
