About the Role:

The Training Specialist is a key member of our team who drives safety, quality, and performance excellence through the implementation, support, and use of digital tools and technology, including Poka. This role is responsible for fostering a continuous improvement culture at Barry Callebaut Brantford, ensuring food and employee safety in their daily routine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, facilitate, and update all training programs to ensure they are effective and aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead the development and deployment of the Poka Connected Worker Platform to enhance digital capabilities and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers and Supervisors to identify and assess training needs, developing and delivering training programs and systems for all shifts.
  • Provide on-the-job training and coaching to increase the digital system capabilities of all operational stakeholders.
  • Act as a coach, linking operators and management teams while creating a data-driven culture.
  • Implement methodologies and processes for reporting performance metrics, using data visualization tools to create dashboards and tools to support data-driven decisions and actions.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities and track results, leading to continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to gather requirements, scope, and business rationale for training programs and projects.
  • Meet and exceed requirements for food safety and employee safety.
About You:
  • Three to five years of experience in a Training role, with a strong background in digital innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Post-secondary education in English, Journalism, or a related field is an asset.
  • Experience with Poka, Microsoft Office, and Google Workplace is required.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Technical writing experience is considered a plus.
  • Fluency in English is a must.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment and support the company's mission to make sustainability the norm.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to stand on concrete floors for long periods.
  • Long periods of computer usage, finger dexterity, and hand movement for keyboard and mouse operation.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and temperatures in and outside the facility.
  • Noise level can exceed 85 decibels.
