About the Role:

The Training and Development Specialist is a key member of the team who works across functions to drive safety, quality, and performance excellence through the implementation, support, and use of digital tools and technology. In addition to driving digital innovation, this role will help foster a continuous improvement culture at Barry Callebaut.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage, facilitate, and update all training programs to ensure they are effective and aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead the development and deployment of digital solutions, such as the POKA Connected Worker Platform, to enhance operational efficiency and employee engagement.
  • Work closely with Operations Managers and Supervisors to identify and assess training needs, and develop targeted solutions to address them.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and systems for all shifts, ensuring that employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Increase the digital literacy of all operational stakeholders through on-the-job training and coaching, and provide ongoing support to ensure they are able to use digital tools and technology effectively.
  • Act as a coach and mentor, linking operators and management teams to create a data-driven culture that drives continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Implement methodologies and processes for reporting performance metrics, using data visualization tools such as POKA to create dashboards and tools that support data-driven decisions and actions.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and track results, ensuring that the organization is able to measure and demonstrate its progress towards its goals.
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional meetings to gather requirements, scope, and business rationale for training programs and projects.
  • Ensure that all training programs and activities are aligned with the organization's safety and quality standards, and that employees are able to perform their jobs in a safe and responsible manner.

About You:

  • Three to five years' experience in a training role, with a proven track record of developing and delivering effective training programs.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as education, instructional design, or a related field.
  • Experience with digital tools and technology, including POKA, Microsoft Office, and Google Workplace.
  • Experience in continuous improvement, change management, and problem-solving, with a strong analytical and process improvement mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Technical writing experience is a plus, as is the ability to communicate fluently in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform tasks that require finger dexterity and hand movement.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment, with a strong ability to focus and concentrate.
