About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Captain to join our team at Hornblower Cruises and Events. As a Captain, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate vessels in accordance with Transport Canada rules and regulations, as well as other federal and local laws
- Maintain a high level of guest satisfaction by providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues that may arise
- Oversee the execution of safety programs in accordance with Transport Canada regulations and company policies
- Ensure adherence to company procedures and protocols, including pre-cruise preparation and cruise execution
- Manage and supervise crew members to ensure they are performing their duties effectively and safely
- Participate in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and guest experience
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as nautical science or maritime studies
- Master Limited license for a vessel of 60 gross tonnage or more
- Current Marine Basic First Aid certification
- Valid passport to enter the United States
- Transport Canada-approved marine medical certification within the last two years
- Minimum of five years of marine experience with an outstanding record
- Strong knowledge of ship systems and maintenance procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
Benefits:
